About Amy & Bob

Hello, I'm Amy and I started Bob's Band in 2017 when I was looking for a music class to take my little one to. I loved creating the sessions and meeting lots of lovely families along the way, but I took a break due to being pregnant again, and, of course, the world shutting down for a couple of years!!

However, we are back and Bob and I have been busy making some wonderful music with lots of lovely little ones already this year! Hooray!

My Grandad Bob was a great musical influence in my life and my Grandad John was a Grenadier Guard, so they're the inspiration for the band! Bob is an adorable handmade puppet who pops up at every session with a special song! He is the creative genius behind it all too (he told me to write that!)

I've grown up surrounded by music and musicians, with my Grandad and Dad both part of the Hoghton Band during my childhood. I had piano lessons and violin lessons and studied music right through to A level where I composed songs that were played by the Northern Chamber Orchestra and a professional Samba Band too. From here I went onto to University where I gained a first for a musical composition elective as part of my creative degree.

I'm now a mummy of 3 and still a keen musician, and I am passionate about sharing my love of music with little ones to encourage them on their journey of musical exploration and enjoyment. I particularly love composing so I worked with my Dad to create some original songs, exclusive to Bob's Band and these have been well loved by many in my classes! I'm sure I will be adding more new songs soon too! Any excuse for a jam on a piano and accordion!

I'm now also a trained breastfeeding peer supporter and I also have certificates in post natal depression awareness and early childhood attachment parenting, so you can be sure you are in a caring environment when you come along!

I can't wait to share my love of music and motherhood with lots of lovely families and I hope to see you at the classes soon!
